Privacy Policy

KitPrice (“we”, “us”) operates kitprice.org. This page explains what data we collect from visitors and why. We collect as little as we can get away with while still measuring whether the site is useful.

What we collect

Analytics. We run a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool (Umami) on our own infrastructure — no third party ever receives this data. It records aggregate figures like page views, referring sites and general device/browser type. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of individual visitors across sessions.

Retailer link clicks. When you click through to a retailer from a product page, we record which offer was clicked and when, so we can tell which retailers and products get genuine interest. We do not record your IP address, browser identifiers or any other personal information alongside that click.

We do not use tracking cookies, and the public site has no accounts, sign-up forms or newsletter, so we never ask you for a name, email address or any other personal detail.

Affiliate links

Some retailer links on KitPrice may be affiliate links, meaning we can earn a commission if you go on to make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. Whether or not a link is an affiliate link, our first-party /go/ redirect (see above) is what records the click, not the affiliate network itself — we don’t rely on third-party tracking cookies to measure this.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies. The separate admin area, used only by KitPrice staff to manage the catalogue, uses a single session cookie to stay signed in; this has no bearing on public visitors.

Retailer sites

Clicking through to a retailer takes you to that retailer’s own website, which has its own, separate privacy policy and its own data practices. We’re not responsible for how retailer sites handle your data once you leave kitprice.org.

Your rights

Because we don’t collect data that identifies you personally, most UK GDPR rights (access, correction, erasure) have little to act on in practice. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, or have any question about this policy, contact admin@kitprice.org and we’ll look into it. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) at any time.

Changes

If what we collect changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
